Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:
At Ban Pako, ecological thinking and environmental protection is of great importance. All energy used at Ban Pako Eco Lodge is produced by our own solar cell system, every building on our premises are built out of eucalyptus trees and bamboo from our own plantations.
Ban Pako Eco Lodge runs its own developement program for the surrounding villages. We are helping them to raise their living standard without harming the natural forest with activities such as growing vegetables, improving the small schools etc. As a guest you can be a part of this by taking one of our tours.
In our restaurant, along with multiple other dishes, you can enjoy our famous red curry knowing that its ingredients are produced by farmers living nearby. In this way we know that there is no unnecessary transport involved or chemicals used, and we also financially support the villages around us.
