Hotel Beau Rivage Mekong
Sustainability
Originally from Perth in Western Australia, Gordon worked for many years as a land developer in his native country. His extensive travels took him to countless lands where he experienced firsthand the world's many hotel styles and approaches to guest satisfaction. He has taken that experience and transformed it magnificently with bricks, mortar, and colour to create a hotel that will satisfy every traveller's taste for fashionable living. Gordon is very proud of the luxury and beauty offered at the Hotel Beau Rivage Mekong and encourages guests to indulge themselves in the modern and stylish rooms.
Caring for destination
This accommodation provider has taken action to address one or more issues (whether environmental, social or cultural) which will contribute positively to the long term viability of the destination and hence their site displays a Caring for the destination rating.
Main area of focus in Caring for the Destination:
Community support & reducing energy consumption.
Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:
Hotel Beau Rivage Mekong supports local talent by hosting artwork from a budding young Vientiane artist in the lobby of the property. This is not only done out of the good will of the hotel by displaying the paintings free of charge and without commission if purchased, but also gives international exposure to talented locals who would not normally have the opportunity to display their artwork to such an international and large audience.
The sale of any paintings goes fully and directly to the artist and provides them with extra income to be able to support themselves and their families.
The Hotel Beau Rivage Mekong also has implemented energy saving cards, showing their commitment to minimise wastage of electricity, even though this is still a relatively new concept in Laos.
