This accommodation provider has taken action to address one or more issues (whether environmental, social or cultural) which will contribute positively to the long term viability of the destination and hence their site displays a Caring for the destination rating.

Main area of focus in Caring for the Destination:  

Promotion of Lao arts and crafts and environmental conservation.

Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative: 

The concept of hotel is based on the Art of Laos.  The Lao traditional architectures and interior sculptures are a symbol of the respect of Lao culture which the Sengtawan Riverside Hotel would love to share their visitors.  

As a matter of policy, Sengtawan Riverside Hotel will only change guest bed linen every third day, unless otherwise requested by the guests.  Through this simple measure they hope to save 2 million gallons of water, 10,000 pounds of cleaning solutions and the equivalent amount of energy as used by 31 households each year.

Sengtawan Hotel also uses solar energy for heating the hot water for the showers.
