Lani Guesthouse

Book

From: USD 33.00

Great location, enormous breakfast, wonderful to have a refrigerator- 11/10/2009, Ms. Gabrielle Lessard

Very nice place to stay - French colonial style building in green surroundings. A little pricey. Rooms at the rear (the cheaper rooms) looked to be small so only worth the money if you stay in the more expensive front rooms.- 20/03/2008, Mr. Williams Ian

Inter Hotel

Vayakorn Guesthouse

Book

Location: Town Centre

From: USD 22.00

Room is ok - spacious and clean. No wi-fi in the room - but Laos problems... The worse is for our room : no view, but a big wall !!! You have to inform your customers that its a no view room. We asked for other room but it was not possible. So for that reason we will not recommended this guest house, unfortunately.- 02/03/2010, Mr. Jacques TOMEI

We booked Vayakorn by following a link on their own website and ended up paying just over $31 a night including the booking fee. What was really annoying was that everyone else there was paying $26 and even the walk up rate was $26, so we felt a little hard done by but at least we secured accommodation advance. The reception area is beautiful and smoke free and the communal areas were generally very clean. Our room was on the top floor and there was no lift but not too much of a problem as we needed the exercise carrying our bags! We read the comments on line about the no fire exit situation and previous fire, but the first and second floors have a fire exit, its just the 3rd floor that doesn't and yes the emergency exit signs do just point to a wall! Our room was really big and clean and with a nice big bed. The only TV channels in English were news channels but that wasn't a problem as we weren't there to watch TV The rooms were cleaned daily. The shower never got above luke warm even when turned up to hot and the pressure down which wasn't great considering it was electric. We thought that all the rooms had wifi but it turns out ours didn't – perhaps its only the rooms on the lower floors that get the wifi. Good location just off the main river front with lots of restaurants near by. The staff were helpful when they could understand you but English is not widely spoken. Breakfast wasn't included but it was a reasonable price and the food was good. We would probably stay in one of the cheaper guest houses next time and not book in advance as we felt Vayakorn was really over priced for what it had to offer.- 21/02/2010, Mrs. LUCY LYNAM

Villa Sisavad Guesthouse

Book

Location: Town Centre

From: USD 16.00

The swimming pool was unusable at the time and quite a few mosquitos given that the doors didnt close properly- 05/03/2010, Mr. Lee Cartwright

Thought I requested the guesthouse to pick me up at the airport, they forgot that. They were kind and paid me that fee. So, it's no problem. They spoke French very well, but English was a little poor. If they had a map around there about restaurants, I had been more happy, because I had a difficulty in finding restaurants.- 02/03/2010, Mr. HAMASAKI HIRONORI

Samxay Hotel

Book

Location: Town Centre

From: USD 12.00

The accommodation was fine, good value for money and the staff were friendly.I was impressed with the standards of the cleaning staff. Although free coffee is available in the mornings the establishment suffers from the lack of a restaurant which could at least serve breakfast, as the hotel is not situated close to any restaurants.- 12/07/2009, Mr. Robert Burgess

B&P Hotel

Book

Location: Town Centre

From: USD 20.00

n/a- 04/02/2010, Mr. Andrew Douglas

We were on the 3rd floor with access only by steep narrow staircase. In the evant of a fire I could not see any visable means of escape. There was no fire instructions and the only other staircase was situated side by side one for guests and one for staff. Both were open, steep and narrow. This was the only accomadation out of the 5 we stayed in both in Cambodia and Laos that I could not see a means of escape.- 14/11/2009, Mrs. Sandra Meas

Vansana Hotel

Book

From: USD 30.00

internet is expensive and slow. the location of the hotel is far from center and taxi expensive, it therefore makes the price of the hotel more expensive as any downtown. The pool is dirty.- 04/01/2010, Mr. marc westhof

The 'Free' Internet was not free, and each night barking dogs behind the hotel were a problem, but otherwise a pleasant hotel- 10/03/2008, Mr. Michael Wood
